Journeys Through the Forest is a body of work about myself and my childhood memories of the forest. I find a sense of feeling in this space, I visited the same forest repetitively to try capture different moments of feeling. The spots that I photographed create points of connection, perhaps from a sense of familiarity, evoked by an old memory that I cannot remember.
The photographs seek silence, with the absence of people, it represents a disconnection from the real world. It is more to do with my inner self, where I can bond with the natural surroundings of the forest. By visiting and observing the forest regularly, I have found a deep connection through the landscapes, visually and mentally.
